American Traveler is seeking an LPN with Illinois licensure and recent acute care experience for a night shift Medical Surgical assignment at a correctional facility.

Details

• Position is in a correctional facility
• Medical Surgical unit caring for diverse patient population
• Night shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 23:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend required, with 2 weekends per month
• Mandatory floating to different units or Cook facilities within 50 miles, as needed
• Uses Cerner for charting; Cerner experience preferred but not required
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Practical Nursing
• Current Illinois LPN license or ability to obtain license two weeks prior to start (license required if applicable)
• Current CPR certification
• Documentation of completed Pharmacology/Medication Administration coursework required at interview
• One year of recent full-time paid clinical experience in an acute care or ambulatory care facility preferred
• Proof of COVID vaccine required; booster not required

Additional Information

• Team-based care model when floated outside primary competency
• No special scheduling requests or block scheduling approved
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed during contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days
• No RTO permitted on weekends, holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• Free parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis
• Strict compliance requirements for onboarding are enforced
