American Traveler is seeking an LPN with active Illinois license and recent acute care or ambulatory experience for a Medical Surgical assignment in a correctional facility with mandatory float requirements.

Details

• Position is based within a correctional facility Medical Surgical unit
• Requires working evening shifts, 5x8 hours, from 15:00 to 23:30
• Every other weekend coverage is required
• Mandatory float policy to various units or Cook County facilities within 50 miles as necessary
• EMR utilized is Cerner; prior experience is beneficial
• Scrub color is navy blue

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
• Active Illinois LPN license required (no pending licenses accepted); license required if applicable
• Current CPR certification required
• Documentation of pharmacology and medication administration coursework as per IDFPR regulations is required at interview
• At least 1 year of full-time recent experience in an acute care or ambulatory care facility is preferred
• Proof of COVID vaccine is required; booster is not required

Additional Information

• Must be willing to float to any Cook facility and could be assigned to units outside of primary competency under a team-based model
• Strict RTO policy allows a maximum of 5 days off, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no time off on weekends, holidays, or immediately before/after a holiday
• No special scheduling requests, and block scheduling is not permitted
