American Traveler is hiring an LPN for a medical surgical unit at a correctional facility, requiring Illinois licensure and recent clinical experience.

Details

• Work in a medical surgical unit within a correctional facility
• Evening shifts, five 8-hour shifts per week from 15:00 to 23:30
• Every other weekend coverage is required
• Mandatory floating within scope to multiple units or facilities as needed, potentially up to 50 miles away
• Uses the Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of Practical Nursing
• Current LPN license in Illinois or ability to obtain license at least two weeks prior to start; license required if applicable
• Current CPR certification
• Documentation of successful completion of required pharmacology/medication administration coursework for LPNs as per Illinois standards
• Preferred: At least 1 year of recent full-time clinical experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting
• Proof of COVID vaccination required prior to start

Additional Information

• Must wear navy blue scrubs
• Floating may occur both within primary competency and outside, with a team-based model used when needed
• No block scheduling or special schedule requests allowed
• RTO limited to 5 days maximum, no more than 2 consecutive days, and not permitted on weekends or holidays, with no RTO before or after holidays
• Free parking is available on a first come, first serve basis
• Strict compliance with onboarding timeline and laboratory work required within 72 hours of offer acceptance
