American Traveler is seeking an LPN for a medical surgical unit in a correctional facility, requiring Illinois LPN licensure and strong medication administration skills.

Details

• Work in a correctional facility medical surgical unit
• Care for adult patients with a variety of medical needs
• Scheduled for evening shifts, 5x8 hours, 15:00–23:30
• Requires working every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Mandatory float to all Cook facilities within 50 miles as needed
• Must be able to work in multiple units using a team-based model if floated outside primary area
• EMR system is Cerner; experience preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing
• Current Illinois LPN license or ability to obtain two weeks prior to start (license required if applicable)
• Current CPR certification required
• Proof of successful completion of a pharmacology/medication administration course as required by Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
• Minimum one year of recent paid clinical experience in an acute care or ambulatory facility preferred
• Proof of COVID vaccine required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including medication administration and monitoring in accordance with facility protocols
• May work within a team-based nursing model when floated outside of primary unit
• Strict RTO policy: maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days, no holiday or adjacent-day RTO, and no RTO on weekends
• No special scheduling requests allowed

• Lab work for compliance must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
