American Traveler is seeking an LPN with an active Illinois license and medication administration certification for a medical-surgical evening shift position in a correctional facility setting.

Details

• Provide care in a medical-surgical unit within a correctional facility
• Work evening shifts (5x8 hours), 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• Serve an adult patient population in an acute care environment
• Mandatory float to any unit or facility within 50 miles at the discretion of facility needs
• Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation; prior experience is an asset
• Every other weekend coverage required

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Practical Nursing
• Active Illinois LPN license required prior to start
• Current CPR certification required
• Proof of completed medication administration (Pharmacology) coursework as outlined by IL regulatory standards, with documentation to be provided at interview
• One year of recent clinical experience in acute care or ambulatory care preferred
• COVID vaccine required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Clinical duties include medication administration and patient care as delegated in a correctional acute care setting
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
• Maximum 5 days of RTO allowed, no more than 2 consecutive days or on/around weekends or holidays
• Strict compliance with onboarding requirements, including timely completion of lab work within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• Team-based support model when floated outside primary area of competency
• 75-mile radius rule applies for candidate eligibility
