American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department night shift with a WV or compact license required.

Details

• Work in a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department with 24 beds
• Patient population ranges from infants to geriatrics, with a high volume of psychiatric cases handled in the general ED area
• Night shifts available as 3x12 or 4x12 hours from 7p-7a with the option to choose
• Every other weekend required as part of the schedule
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
• Floating may be required within scope to meet facility needs
• Potential for blocked scheduling to be discussed during interview
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required; candidates may be considered with a pending license but must have active status before start
• Minimum 2 years RN experience with at least 1 year in Emergency Department required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI (CPI can be obtained through Qualivis prior to start)
• Experience with IV starts and telemetry required

Additional Information

• Role involves caring for trauma, neurological, orthopedic, psychiatric, and renal emergency cases, including high-acuity boarders
• First-time travelers will be considered if they meet experience requirements
• Flu vaccine required from October 1 to March 31 unless medically exempt; COVID vaccine or approved exemption also required
• Permanent employees of this health system must wait 2 years from their last day worked before returning as travelers
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; those within 75–100 miles may be considered for approval
