Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology unit with bone marrow transplant or oncology experience and night shift requirements.

Details

• Work in a hospital oncology unit specializing in malignant hematology and bone marrow transplants
• Care for a diverse oncology patient population with a typical patient ratio of 1:4
• Bone marrow biopsies, central line management, and blood and bone marrow transplants are regularly performed
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)
• Rotation may include every other weekend and holiday coverage is required
• No on-call duties are required
• Floating to other units may be necessary if BMT census decreases
• Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience is required

Requirements

• Active LA or Compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of oncology or bone marrow transplant nursing experience required
• ONS Chemo certification and completion of ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy course required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• CPI certification is preferred

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include delivering direct patient care to oncology and BMT patients
• Scrub or dress code requirements are not specified
• Returning employees must have been separated from any related facility for at least 1 year to be eligible
• Minimal time off requests are permitted during Mardi Gras (2/13 - 2/22)
• A 75-mile radius rule applies for eligibility
