American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night position requiring cardiac and stroke care expertise and a North Carolina or compact license.

Details

• Position is on a 10-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift, 7p-7a, with every other weekend rotation
• Care for patients with chest pain, syncope, and angina
• Typical patient load is an average census of 8 with RN ratios of 1:5
• Floating required within Region 1 facilities and within scope of practice
• EMR used is Epic; IV pumps are Alaris; medication dispensing via Omnicell
• Travelers must work 75% of holidays
• Unit supports stroke, cardiac, and bariatric patient care

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required for Resource Team
• Strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke care, trach care, PIV starts, and cardiac drip management
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the home unit

• Responsibilities include advanced stroke and cardiac monitoring, trach and tube management, chest tube care, and medication gtt management
• Support includes supervisors, charge RN, resource RN, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and IV/VAT team
• Mandatory facility and two-day departmental orientation provided

• RTO up to 6 days can be granted (excluding holidays), with flexibility to add time to the end of the contract if needed
