American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an inpatient rehab position on nights requiring a WV or compact RN license and strong independent skills.

Details

• Work in a post-acute inpatient rehabilitation unit
• Unit has 7 beds with a 1:7 nurse to patient ratio
• Patient population includes CVA, TIA, MI, hip fracture, Parkinson's, trauma, chronic conditions, debility, MVA, and TBI cases
• Charting is done using Cerner EMR
• Required to work 12 hour night shifts with every other weekend scheduled
• Holiday rotation is required as assigned
• Unit utilizes CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow equipment
• On occasion, may float to other MS, MS-Tele, or IMC units to care for lower acuity patients
• No charge nurse on shift; works alongside one PCT per shift

Requirements

• Active RN license for WV or compact state is required
• BLS certification is required
• Minimum of 2 years of MS or rehab experience is required with previous rehab experience preferred
• Must be comfortable working independently in a small team environment
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local travelers are not accepted

Additional Information

• RN is responsible for attending weekly interdisciplinary team meetings
• One day of orientation with an educator and 1-2 days with a preceptor are provided
• Scrub color requirement is navy blue for RNs
• Holiday rotations alternate yearly between two groups of holidays
• May float if census on rehab unit is low
• No titration of drips or tele/monitor tech responsibilities required
• Candidates with prior employment at WVU Medicine locations must have a two-year break before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for more than one year without a two-year break
