Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with at least 2 years of Cath Lab experience and active WV or compact RN license for a Cath Lab/IR role requiring on-call availability.

Details

• Work in an acute care hospital's Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology setting
• Patient population includes cardiac (PCI & diagnostic, LHC & RHC, pacemaker implants), vascular, IR cases, mediports, dialysis catheters, and AAA stenting
• Average of 16 cases per day across 2 Cath Labs, 1 Hybrid Room, and 7 Holding Rooms
• Uses specialized equipment such as impellas, IABP, shockwave, IVUS, FFR, IFR, swans, and roto devices
• Cerner EMR is used, with GE MacLab and transition to Phillips Xper expected in 2025
• Schedule consists of 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week, 0530-1800, with on-call required for weeknights, some weekends, holidays, and 30-minute call response time
• Requires on-call participation 1-2 weeknights per week and 1 full weekend every fourth weekend
• Orientation includes 2-3 shifts with a preceptor
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience
• Experience with impella, IABP, shockwave, IVUS, FFR, IFR, swans, and roto equipment
• Prior experience with interventional radiology and peripheral vascular cases
• Proficiency in conscious sedation, IV sedation, airway management, and PICC line insertion
• Ability to accurately read and interpret telemetry rhythms
• Compliance with a 50-mile radius rule; no local travelers
• Must provide a copy of a valid, unexpired driver's license for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for pre-admission and post-procedure patient care in holding areas and procedural nursing in the lab
• Participate in a 4-person on-call team with a 30-minute response time
• Scrubs provided in royal blue
• Support from charge nurse and six Cath Lab techs per shift
• Must participate in the holiday call rotation as needed
• RNs with prior employment at any WVU Medicine facility require a 2-year break before reapplying
• Cumulative assignment time at WVU facilities is limited to one year, after which a 2-year break is required
