American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital setting requiring a GA or compact RN license and strong emergency nursing skills.

Details

• Work in a large hospital Emergency Department with 61+ beds and surge capacity
• Level 1 Trauma Center and Stroke Center with Chest Pain accreditation
• Patient population includes trauma, cardiac, stroke, diabetic, mental health, and medical emergencies
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 depending on assigned zone
• 12-hour night shifts (7P-7A) with a 6-week scheduling cycle
• Six weekend shifts required within each 6-week schedule
• Holiday shifts required: one major holiday per season
• No on-call or floating required outside the ER
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, and Phillips monitors
• Central Telemetry monitoring in the ED

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam (Basic Cardiac Rhythm)
• Level 1 trauma Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Experience with drips such as Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, Propofol, Levophed
• Epic EMR experience preferred
