American Traveler is hiring a skilled RN for an Adult Emergency Department position, requiring recent Level I or II ED experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• Position is in a busy adult Emergency Department within a hospital setting
• Shift schedule consists of 4x12 hour night shifts per week, 7:00pm-7:30am
• Candidates are required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:4 to 1:5 depending on patient acuity
• Must be flexible with floating to Psych ED and the Pediatric ED (caring for patients age 15+ in pediatrics unless experienced)
• The department serves a high volume of patients with up to 120 treatment areas and 350-440 patients per day
• Travel RNs will not be assigned to trauma rooms
• Epic is used as the charting system; experience preferred

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent Level I or II Emergency Department experience or 2+ years of recent Level III/IV ED experience
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and TNCC are required and must be active/unexpired
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips, identify heart blocks, and pass a telemetry test (minimum score 85%) on Day 1
• Level I trauma hospital experience required
• Two professional references, one from a manager, including performance evaluations, are required for consideration
• Must pass Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test during onboarding
• Preferred experience with Epic, previous travel assignments, and/or critical care

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive care of adult patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Floating required to Psych ED and Pediatric ED as needed
• No assignment to trauma rooms for travelers
• High-acuity, fast-paced work environment with robust support team
• Holiday coverage is part of the schedule for every other holiday
• Scrubs are required per hospital policy
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers except in Sterile Processor roles
