Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology position caring for hematologic oncology patients, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and at least one year of MS/Onc experience.

Details

• Work in a Medical Surgical Oncology unit with mixed acuity, including PCU-level and MS-level patients
• Care for adult patients diagnosed with a range of hematologic malignancies, such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma
• Special procedures include autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T therapy
• Day (7:00-19:30) and night (19:00-7:30) shifts available, working 3x12 hour shifts per week
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation are required
• Central and peripheral line as well as PICC line management are integral to the role

Requirements

• Active OH or compact state RN license required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in medical/surgical and oncology nursing required
• Telemetry monitoring and rapid response team experience required
• Experience with feeding tube care, blood product administration, and management of various line types
• Heme Onc experience strongly preferred
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• ONS chemotherapy certification and Oncology certification preferred but not required

• Responsibilities include managing care for acutely ill oncology patients and supporting complex transplant and cellular therapy cases
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including oncologists, transplant specialists, and support staff
• First-time travelers accepted
• No mandatory 30-day break between assignments is required for this role
