American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with wound and ostomy care certification for a Surgery Nursing Administration position specializing in complex wound and ostomy management.

Details

• Position is in the Surgery Nursing Administration department within a hospital setting
• Specializes in the assessment, treatment, and management of complex surgical and traumatic wounds, as well as ostomies
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts
• Inpatient, acute care environment with patient teaching responsibilities
• Experience with wound vacs and various dressing changes required
• Uses Epic EMR; prior Epic experience is preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license in MD or compact state
• BLS certification required
• Wound ostomy continence nurse certification (CWON or CWOCN) required
• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in wound and ostomy care
• Must have experience with all types of surgical and traumatic wounds
• Experience in facilities with 500+ beds required
• Ostomy experience is mandatory
• Previous travel assignment experience is preferred

Additional Information

• Responsible for independently assessing, measuring, classifying, and managing wounds and related skin conditions
• Provides patient and family education regarding wound and ostomy care
• No central nursing orientation is attended for this role
• No weekend, holiday, or call coverage required
• Candidates living within the local area are accepted at the same rate, except where a 60 mile radius rule applies for certain locations
