American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring critical care and cardiac experience along with NJ or compact licensure.

Details

• Position is in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU with a primary assignment in the PICU
• Additional floating to Pediatrics and NICU is required based on hospital needs
• Care for pediatric cardiac patients including post-surgical and transplant cases
• Typical patient ratio is 1:2 or higher
• Unit contains 19 beds
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) required
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• Requires telemetry monitoring and management of Medtronic pacemakers

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PICU critical care experience and 1 year of pediatric cardiac experience, both documented
• Competency in caring for patients post-CT surgery including ASD, VSD, AV Canal Defect, valve replacements, Glenn and Fontan procedures, TOF, ablations, and transplants
• Experience with BIPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, trachs, and tele monitoring required
• Prior experience with Epic or willingness to learn
• First time travelers not accepted
• Former staff of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide specialized care to critically ill pediatric cardiac patients including post-surgical and transplant cases
• Must wear navy blue scrubs
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Candidates must be able to float to units that match their skill set as needed
• Must not have open or active background or license issues
• Holiday coverage per hospital policy may be required
