American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift assignment requiring an active IL RN license and mandatory floating.

Details

• Work within the Medical Surgical unit of a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Night shifts with a schedule of 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend coverage required (2 weekends per month)
• Floating to any unit within Cook facilities, including locations up to 50 miles away, is mandatory
• Uses Cerner for charting; prior Cerner experience preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required (not provided)
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required upon consideration; no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required; booster not required
• Must live within a 75-mile radius to be considered for local or travel positions

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to a diverse med/surg patient population in an acute care setting
• Team-based model in place when floated outside primary competency
• Compliance documentation and lab work must be completed promptly after offer
• A maximum of 5 days RTO (requested time off) allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no RTO on weekends or holidays
• No RTO allowed the day before or after a holiday
• Returning travelers must complete full recredentialing and retrain regardless of prior contract duration
