Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU position requiring recent open-heart ICU experience and an active MD or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU within a large hospital setting
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, and placement of ventricular assist devices
• Unit is 18 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
• Rotating shifts of 7A-7P, including both days and nights
• Assignments available for either 36 or 48 hours per week

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license
• BLS certification required
• Current experience recovering post-operative cardiac surgery patients in a dedicated CV ICU
• Experience working in an open-heart unit with patients admitted directly from the OR using vents, CRRT, Swan, epicardial wires/pacemakers, titration of vasoactive drips, level 1 IABP, and ECMO
• Experience in facilities with 500+ bed count required
• ACLS, Critical Care Certification, trauma course, and Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include caring for complex cardiovascular post-surgical and transplant patients
• Training and orientation offered on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month
• First-time travelers will be considered if all requirements are met
• Dress code is hospital scrubs
• Local candidates are accepted except for Howard County General, which requires candidates to live more than 60 miles away
