American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical night shift position requiring Cerner charting and flexibility for weekend and floating assignments.

Details

• Position is in a hospital Medical Surgical unit treating adults ages 18 and older
• Diverse patient population including neuro, cardio/pulm, endocrine, liver/GI, and renal cases
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6
• Night shifts with a schedule of 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Travelers are required to work 50% of weekends based on unit needs
• Floating to various levels of care, including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU, may be required at main and affiliate hospitals
• Charting is completed in Cerner EMR and proficiency is required

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license in hand or fingerprint application package submitted for consideration
• Minimum of 18 months to 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Current BCLS certification from AHA or RQI accepted
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Experience with Cerner EMR required
• Local candidates not accepted for this position
• Former perm or PRN staff must have a 12-month gap before applying as a traveler

Additional Information

• Travelers may be expected to precept or be assigned nursing students to shadow
• Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned as needed with training provided
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract period
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Up to 5 days of requested time off will be automatically approved
• All travelers will float within the hospital and to affiliated facilities as needed
