Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health RN for night shifts in an adult and geriatric psychiatric setting, requiring travel experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a behavioral health unit within a hospital setting
• Provides care to adult and geriatric patients with acute psychiatric diagnoses
• Common diagnoses include depressive disorders, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, personality, and substance use disorders
• Patient ratio is typically 1:5
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Floating within behavioral health units is required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of behavioral health RN experience required
• Travel RN experience required
• BLS and SAMA certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Applicants from designated counties are not eligible
• Former permanent staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler

Additional Information

• Responsible for providing psychiatric nursing care to adults and geriatrics experiencing acute mental health crises
• No travel pairs or groups permitted
• No more than 3 days of time off (RTO) will be approved, with none allowed during orientation week
• First week of orientation requires full attendance
• Dress code follows unit requirements
