Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU/Clinic position in an acute care setting, requiring an active IL RN license and ACLS/PALS certifications.

Details

• Work in the PACU/Clinic unit within an acute care hospital environment
• Serve a multi-specialty surgical patient population including GI, general, ENT, plastics, dental, ortho, podiatry, GYN, urology, and ophthalmology cases
• Average caseload is 15-20 surgical cases per day
• Unit features 4 operating rooms, 6 Phase 1 bays, and 14 Phase 2 rooms
• Shifts are either four 9-hour days (Tuesday-Friday) or five 8-hour days (Monday-Friday)
• No call, holiday, weekend, or night shifts required
• Allscripts EMR is used

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in preoperative or post-anesthesia recovery of surgical patients
• Experience with pre-op procedures and recovery phases in a surgical setting required

Additional Information

• Responsible for preoperative assessments, vitals, IVs, medication administration, and patient education
• Provide care in Phase 1 and Phase 2 surgical recovery including pain and symptom management
• Prepare patients for discharge in Phase 2 recovery
• No orientation hours are included with this assignment
