American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/Medical Progressive Care Unit position specializing in trauma and advanced neurological care.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed Progressive Care Unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes neuromuscular disorders, TBI, meningitis, spinal cord injury, brain and spine tumor resections, head and neck cancer, and normal pressure hydrocephalus
• Provides care for both medical and surgical neuro patients with primary stroke center designation
• Night shifts or day/night rotation required; no straight day shifts available
• 36 hours per week schedule
• Experience with ventricular drains, arterial lines, and complex post-surgical cases required

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license required and must remain active throughout the assignment
• Current BLS certification required
• Recent (within the last 2 years) Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience required
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring, invasive BP monitoring via arterial lines, and advanced airway management
• Experience with Bi-PAP, C-PAP, tracheostomy care for ventilated patients, low dose pressors, vasoactive medications, and inotropes required
• Experience caring for patients with ventriculostomies, subdural and lumbar drains, complex wounds, and post-surgical lines and tubes
• No local candidates accepted; must live at least 75 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities involve managing neurological and surgical patients with advanced monitoring and care needs
• Must be comfortable with managing complex lines, drains, and critical medications
• First time travelers will not be considered due to specialty requirements
• Holiday coverage expected per unit policy
