Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) position in Texas requiring at least one year of recent ICU experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in an 8-bed ICU with a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
• Float to a 6-bed IMC with a 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratio may be required
• Adult patient population includes medical, cardiac, sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, and other high-acuity cases
• Care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive infusions, invasive monitoring, and CRRT
• Shift is 06:45-19:15
• Unit utilizes an open ICU/IMC model with daily physician rounds and multidisciplinary communication through Voalte phone

Requirements

• Active TX or compact state RN license required
• Minimum of one year recent ICU nursing experience required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms, lab results, arterial blood gases, and hemodynamic data
• Must provide Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include direct nursing care, advanced interventions, detailed assessments, titration of medications, and emergency response
• Unit is nurse-driven with no physician residents in-house and critical care physicians available by phone
• Strong communication, teamwork, initiative, and problem-solving skills expected
• All travelers must have a US Social Security Number and a US home address
• Local candidates are accepted but may receive a reduced pay rate based on the facility radius rule
• COVID vaccination is not required as of July 1, 2023
