Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN with at least one year of experience and Epic proficiency for a Med/Surg Float Pool position with night shifts and floating requirements.

Details

• Position is in the Medical Surgical Float Pool covering adult and geriatric patients
• Staff will float to all Med/Surg and Med/Surg Tele units within the hospital and may be required to float to a nearby campus
• Standard patient ratio is 1:5-6
• Shifts consist of three 12-hour nights from 19:00 to 07:00
• No call responsibilities required
• Weekend scheduling requires work every other weekend, averaging 6 weekends in a 13-week assignment
• Unit uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR systems

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of one year Med/Surg nursing experience
• Current BLS certification required
• Recent hands-on Epic charting experience required
• Ability to float between Med/Surg and Med/Surg Tele units
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one full year if previously employed there
• Returning travelers not eligible unless a successful assignment was completed outside the health system

Additional Information

• Care for a varied adult and geriatric patient population with Med/Surg and telemetry needs
• Expected to work assigned major holidays based on contract length
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Scrubs must be navy blue
• Up to 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed, excluding the first week of the assignment
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Travel pairs cannot be assigned the same shift on the same unit
• Full compliance is required to start on time; delays may result in a two-week start push
