American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant with CST and CFA certifications and recent cardiac surgery experience.

Details

• Position based in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) within a hospital surgical services department
• Primary focus on adult cardiac surgical cases
• Day shift from Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
• Call required every other weekend and two days during the week
• Every third weekend rotation may also be required

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program; technical diploma from CST training required
• Certified First Assistant (CFA) required
• NBSTSA certification required
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVOR experience specializing in cardiac cases
• Formal technical education for CST is mandatory; on-the-job training or non-technical diplomas not accepted
• Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic technique, universal protocol (timeout), specimen handling, sterilization/disinfection, and radiation/laser/fire safety

Additional Information

• Responsible for scrubbing and assisting in cardiovascular and cardiac surgical procedures
• Must accurately label and handle surgical specimens according to protocols
• Maintains strict adherence to safety protocols including radiation, laser, and fire precautions
• Expected to rotate through weekend shifts as scheduled
• Scrubs required for all shifts
• Must provide two professional references for consideration
