American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Orthopedics Med/Surg unit requiring ortho experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Orthopedic unit of a hospital with a focus on med/surg and post-surgical patients
• Patient population includes orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical cases, with an average daily census of 37
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 5-6:1, with potential to flex up to 7:1 in extreme cases
• 12-hour day shifts are available, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend coverage is required, and missed weekends must be made up
• Block scheduling is available (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday)
• Floating to other med/surg units within the facility is required based on census needs
• Epic EMR is used on the unit

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years recent RN experience in orthopedics
• BCLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Epic experience required, especially for first-time travelers
• IV start and telemetry skills required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Preferred: ACLS certification, charge nurse experience, Level I trauma experience

Additional Information

• Nursing responsibilities include pain management and care for orthopedic and spine patients
• Covid care is not cohorted; patients are managed on all units unless transferred to ICU
• No holiday RTO is approved, and RTO after booking is not allowed
• First-time travelers are accepted if they have Epic experience
