American Traveler is seeking an experienced LPN for a Medical Surgical position in a Level I Trauma setting requiring IV certification and recent travel experience.

Details

• Work in a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center Medical Surgical unit
• Assignment is for 13 weeks on a 3x12 hour day shift (7:00-19:00); 36 or 48 hour schedules available
• Patient ratios typically 1:7, with support provided by PCCs, RNs, and a team-based nursing model
• Requires care for complex acute adult and geriatric patient populations
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius
• Uses Cerner EMR, and prior Cerner experience is preferred
• On-call and weekend shifts required as needed

Requirements

• Active, non-pending LPN or LVN license in compliance with NLC guidelines; license required if applicable
• IV certification is required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical LPN experience, with 3+ years preferred
• Prior travel nursing assignment required; first-time travelers must have at least 3 years of relevant recent experience
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• BLS certification required and must remain current throughout assignment
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• All time off requests must be included at submission for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include providing direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity environment
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary team under a team-based nursing approach
• Holiday coverage is required; must be willing to work at least two out of three major holidays if they fall during the assignment
• Returning travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least one year
• Must adhere to strict compliance and documentation standards
• Will not consider candidates who have been submitted to more than one job or facility within the same network
