American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Rehab position in an acute care setting with weekday 10-hour shifts and strong cardiac background required.

Details

• Work in an acute care setting within the Cardiac Rehab (Phase 2/outpatient) program
• Primary patient population includes individuals recovering from cardiac surgery or events requiring monitored exercise therapy and education
• Care provided in a hospital-based gym environment with ongoing EKG and vital sign monitoring
• Outpatient program operates Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm; typical nursing shifts are 10 hours from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, four days per week
• Flexible scheduling may be considered to accommodate occasional 8-hour shifts based on staffing needs
• Utilizes the Allscripts EMR system

Requirements

• Current IL RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
• Current ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience monitoring EKG rhythms and working with cardiac rehab or similar patient population preferred

Additional Information

• RNs are responsible for conducting and monitoring patient exercise sessions, developing individualized care plans, setting wellness goals, and providing cardiac education
• Responsibilities include charting care plans, collaborating with medical directors, scheduling and following up with patients and their providers
• Working environment adheres to standards by AACVPR, AHA, and ACC with regular program quality reviews and certification maintenance
• At least two qualified clinicians must staff the gym on full patient days, with one being an RN
• Must assist with both direct patient care and supportive tasks outside patient exercise hours
