Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in a cardiac stepdown setting, requiring a DC RN license and two years of cardiac telemetry experience.

Details

• Position is in a hospital-based 48-bed cardiac-focused stepdown unit
• Patient population includes cardiac stepdown, CHF, NSTEMI, arrhythmias, vascular surgery, and some pulmonary care
• Frequent administration of IV drips including heparin, milrinone, lasix, and bumex
• 12-hour day shifts, three shifts per week
• Uses Cerner EMR and experience is required
• Unit contains 4 pulmonary care beds and 10 cardiac surgery beds (travelers not required to take cardiac surgery patients)
• Must live at least 25 miles from the facility

Requirements

• Active and unencumbered DC RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• CPI certification required
• Minimum of 2 years recent cardiac telemetry RN experience in a US hospital required
• At least 2 years of total RN experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• BSN highly desired

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include managing cardiac stepdown patients and administering complex IV drips
• Must provide two manager or supervisor references from the past 12 months, with one from the most recent employer
• COVID and flu vaccination documentation required
• Date of birth and social security number required for credentialing
• First-time travelers will be considered
• AHA certifications only accepted
