American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Telemetry Progressive Care Unit position requiring 18 months of PCU experience and current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Work in a 33-bed PCU unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes stroke rule-out, pneumonia, cellulitis, failure to thrive, altered mental status, chest pain rule-out, atrial fibrillation, COPD, and more
• RN patient ratios are 1:5 to 1:6
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, scheduled every other weekend
• Float required within Region 3 facilities including Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH)
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• EPIC is used for EMR; Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips Telemetry monitors are used
• Travelers will work 75% of holidays

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 18 months of recent PCU experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with tracheostomy care, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care, and central line management
• Ability to float within designated region and scope of practice
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the home unit

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for a wide range of progressive care and telemetry patients
• Support staff includes CNA, unit receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, resource nurse, RT, and hospitalist
• Department operates with a close-knit, teamwork-focused culture emphasizing patient experience
• Two days of departmental orientation provided in addition to facility orientation
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Free parking is available on site
• Maximum of 6 days off can be approved (excluding holidays) and must be added to the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
