Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with at least 2 years of experience and an active SC or compact RN license for night shifts.

Details

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg unit
• Patient ratios typically 1:6, flexing to 1:7 if required
• Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Every other weekend is required
• Float to similar units may be required based on staffing needs
• Epic EMR is used, and experience with Epic is required
• Royal blue scrubs are required

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
• At least 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Skills in Med/Surg, telemetry, insulin management, and rapid response required
• Experience with MS/Tele strongly preferred
• Must provide Social Security card and driver's license for consideration
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility
• Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
• All required online modules must be completed before starting the assignment
• Holiday work may be required based on unit need
