American Traveler is seeking a Wound Care RN with at least 2 years of experience, MO or compact RN license, and WOCN certification for a weekday shift.

Details

• Work in the Wound Care department of a short-term acute care hospital
• Level I Trauma, Magnet recognized, and teaching hospital with 1,273 beds
• Day shifts, 4x10 hours, Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 18:00
• No nights, weekends, or holidays required
• Float within scope to meet facility needs may be required
• Uses EPIC EMR; experience preferred
• Patient population includes ostomy, complex wound, burn, and skin integrity management cases

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital wound/ostomy care experience
• Current BLS and WOCN certification required at the time of consideration
• Demonstrated proficiency with colostomy, ileostomy, J Pouch, wound vac, pressure ulcer, and ostomy care
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Pending license may be accepted for consideration
• No more than 7 days RTO per contract; no RTO allowed during orientation
• Permanent employees must have a 1-year break before returning as a traveler

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include wound assessment, measurement, staging, treatment, and recommendations
• Perform wound vac application/removal, ostomy site marking, and supply ordering
• Provide staff, patient, and family education in wound and ostomy care
• Escalate assessment concerns and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Frequent campus walking required during shifts
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
