American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Outpatient Hematology Oncology Clinic position requiring a VA or compact license and recent oncology or infusion clinic experience.

Details

• Position is in an outpatient Hematology Oncology clinic setting
• Assignment involves rotating through infusion/day hospital, lab/port draw, clinic, and bone marrow biopsy suite
• Provides care to autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplant and CAR-T patients
• Day shift schedule with four 9.5-hour shifts per week, typically 7:00 to 17:30

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 12 months recent experience in oncology or infusion clinic nursing
• Experience in inpatient oncology will be considered; other outpatient experience not accepted
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school with a diploma, Associate, or BSN (BSN preferred)
• Current BLS certification required
• Must not have been employed as a permanent staff member at VCU Health within the past twelve months
• Compliant with drug, tobacco, and natural nail policies of the facility

Additional Information

• Duties include chemotherapy/biotherapy administration, blood product transfusions, port draws, phlebotomy, and central line care
• Participate in the management of chemotherapy toxicities and monitoring of hematologic conditions
• Expected to assist in bone marrow biopsy/aspiration with post-procedural recovery
• Must adhere to smoke-free campus protocols
• All new hires subject to fingerprinting background check specific to Virginia state regulations
• Time-off requests must be approved in advance; holidays are not guaranteed off
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Documentation of graduation from an accredited nursing program is required
