Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric CVICU position requiring prior CVICU experience in a Level I trauma setting and appropriate certifications.

Details

• Work in the Cardiac Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital
• Care for critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions
• Night shift with three 12-hour shifts per week
• Level I trauma environment

Requirements

• Active Oklahoma or compact RN license
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Minimum of one year of CVICU experience in a Level I trauma setting
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility

Additional Information

• Expected to assume care for an assigned group of pediatric cardiac patients
• Document patient responses and any changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor procedures
• Monitor vital signs and intervene as necessary
• Administer medications, IV infusions, and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families and prepare for discharge
• Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff
