American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring an active IL license and mandatory floating within a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required, totaling two weekends per month
• Block scheduling and special scheduling requests are not permitted
• Mandatory floating to various units within the system, potentially up to 50 miles from primary location
• Cerner EMR system used

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care Med/Surg experience
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Must live within a 75-mile radius to be eligible as a local candidate; locals accepted
• Pending license not accepted
• Proof of required vaccinations, including COVID vaccine, must be provided one week prior to start

Additional Information

• RNs may be floated to different units, including outside of their primary specialty, with a team-based support model in place if needed
• Travelers can be notified of float assignments up to two hours before shift and are expected to comply
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Maximum of 5 days off allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends or around holidays
• Lab work compliance must be completed within 72 hours of accepting assignment
• Holiday time off is not permitted, and failure to work a scheduled holiday may result in contract cancellation
• A strict compliance process is enforced to ensure all onboarding requirements are met in a timely manner
