American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) position requiring scrub and circulate skills and strong cardiac experience.

Details

• Work in the CVOR at an academic teaching hospital
• Patient population includes cardiovascular surgical cases, with possible exposure to orthopedic sports, minimally invasive, laparoscopic, robotics, general, GYN, urology, and plastics cases
• Busy, high-acuity environment in a Magnet-designated facility
• Uses Epic for charting; Epic experience preferred but not required
• Mid-shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts, 11:00 to 23:30, including weekend shifts
• On-call requirements included for cardiac cases
• Floating required within the hospital; not required to float to sister hospitals
• Block schedules are not available
• Charge duties may be assigned as needed

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required at time of application
• Minimum 3-4 years of cardiovascular OR experience required
• Must be able to both circulate and scrub CVOR cases
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience in teaching hospital and trauma setting preferred
• Experience with neuro, spine, thoracic, or vascular cases is a plus
• At least two prior travel assignments beyond initial hospital required
• COVID vaccination and booster required, no exceptions
• Pending licenses not accepted
• Prior staff of UW must be separated for at least 18 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for complex cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Charge RN responsibilities may be assigned
• Collaboration with a multidisciplinary surgical team in a high-volume setting
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Scrubs are provided and any color may be worn
• Maximum of one week RTO allowed and no RTO during orientation week
• No mile radius restriction; local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Proof of state board nursing license, skills checklist, references, and certifications required for consideration
