American Traveler is seeking a RN with at least 2 years of high acuity Pediatric ICU experience and current BLS and PALS certifications for a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center assignment.

Details

• Position located in a 24-bed Pediatric ICU within a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Average patient census ranges from 21 to 23 patients
• Patient population includes trauma, respiratory, neurosurgical, renal failure, transplants, blood disorders, and complex medical cases
• RN to patient ratios vary based on acuity: 2:1, 1:1, or 1:2
• Work schedule is night shift, 1845 - 0715, with every other weekend required
• Floating required to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, and General Peds units as needed
• EMR system is Epic; experience required
• Uses Alaris and Medfusion syringe pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, and specialized equipment including Belmont Rapid Infuser, Artic Sun, Camino, and more

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent, high acuity Pediatric ICU experience required
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, high acuity environment
• Epic charting experience required
• Competency with Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino device, Belmont Rapid Infuser, critical care drip titration, invasive line management, ventilator and trach care, HOFV, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and CRRT required
• Ability to float to Pediatric CVICU required

Additional Information

• Daily responsibilities include managing vasoactive drips, invasive lines, sedation, ventilator and trach care, as well as bedside procedures with providers
• Department is supported by CNAs, a unit secretary, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, resource nurse, respiratory therapist, intensivist, residents, and advanced practice providers, all available 24/7
• Centralized and bedside monitoring in use
• No on-call required for this position
• Orientation includes facility onboarding and two days of departmental training
• Required to work alternate major holidays and every other weekend
• Scrub color is navy
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
