Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for night shifts in Virginia, requiring a VA or compact license and at least one prior travel assignment.

Details

• Position is in the ICU of a hospital setting
• Night shifts with 3x12 or optional 4x12 hour schedule
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floats may be required to CVICU, CVSD, or Cardiac Tele as needed
• Uses Epic EMR system; EPIC class assignment depends on prior experience

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of application
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Completion of at least one previous travel nursing assignment required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Willingness to float to related critical care units or cardiac telemetry if needed
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), with medical or religious exemption available if compliant with CMS guidelines
• COVID vaccination or valid exemption required
• Smoke and nicotine free status required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include caring for critically ill patients and collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams
• All travelers must attend Epic training unless recently assigned to the facility
• Modules for onboarding and orientation required, with hours depending on experience and specialty
• Must work some holidays as assigned
• Travelers who were previously employed by the facility must wait one year before returning
• Requests for time off must be submitted up front and are approved at management's discretion
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment
