American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in an Acute Level II setting, with IL RN license and specialized certifications required.

Details

• Position is in the Alternate Birthing Center LDRP unit of an acute care hospital
• Handles laboring, postpartum, and nursery newborn patients with approximately 700 deliveries per year
• Unit includes 12 LDRP rooms and 2 triage rooms, following AWHONN staffing guidelines (1:1 labor, 1:3 couplet)
• Level II nursery with CPAP provided for newborns and respiratory therapist assistance
• Utilizes Epic for charting and Obix EFM system with Phillips monitors for fetal monitoring
• Works 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float hospital-wide as needed for team-based nursing

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Proficiency in Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring equipment preferred
• Must be skilled in labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and nursery care
• Experience with CPAP for newborns is beneficial

Additional Information

• Travelers must work every other holiday throughout the assignment
• Scrubs are provided by the hospital
• Charge RN is present each shift and does not take a patient assignment
• Support team includes OB techs and unit secretaries; Neonatology provider onsite 24/7
• 2-3 shifts of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Drug-free workplace; negative drug screen required for all candidates
• Local candidates are accepted at a local rate if residing within 50 miles
