Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an overflow, post-surgical, and observation unit, with recent travel experience and a compact or TN license required.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry overflow unit with a post-surgical and observation patient population
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 or 1:7
• Day shifts are 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
• Weekend and on-call coverage required as needed
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within 20 miles, though floating between campuses is rare
• Transitioning to a team nursing model with LPN support
• Cerner EMR is used; experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required; no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• At least 1 completed previous travel assignment (no first-time travelers considered)
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
• BLS certification required
• Travelers must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
• Driver's license and vaccination status must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

• Unit cares for general med/surg, overflow, post-surgical, and observation patients
• Must be willing to work at least 1-2 major holidays if they fall within assignment (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• All requested time off must be submitted up front
• Former employees must have at least a one-year separation before being considered for rehire
• Dress code and scrub requirements will be provided upon assignment
• No local candidates accepted within a 100-mile radius
