Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Coronary Care Unit position requiring strong cardiac and critical care skills and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of a hospital with 32 beds
• Patient ratio is 2:1
• Day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Unit utilizes Hill-Rom beds and Phillips telemetry monitors
• Uses the Meditech documentation system
• Scheduling involves 4-week periods with 3-4 weekend shifts required
• Floating to other units as needed based on census
• Student nurse externs are available as techs, and there is a unit secretary Monday to Friday during business hours

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of recent cardiac and critical care experience
• Must have experience with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, and Impella; CRRT preferred
• Experience performing or assisting with procedures such as central line insertion, Swan-Ganz insertion, and intubations
• Recent ICU or CCU experience required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted
• Professional reference requirements: one reference for most states (two for FL and MO)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing critically ill cardiac patients and advanced cardiac support devices
• Dress code requires scrubs in galaxy blue, red, or black; scrub jackets or vests only
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Holiday coverage is required as per scheduling
• Orientation and team support provided on unit
