American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department night shift position requiring trauma care skills and a current DC RN license.

Details

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department
• Night shift schedule, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• Care for a diverse patient population including urgent care, psych, pediatric, and critical care/trauma cases
• Must be willing to work as the primary trauma bedside RN
• Nurse-to-patient ratio up to 1:5
• Required to use Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Active DC RN license in hand
• Minimum of 3 years recent Emergency Room experience required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS (AHA only)
• Cerner EMR experience required
• CPI certification mandated by position
• BSN highly desired
• Must live at least 25 miles from facility
• Must have a valid US Social Security Number (SSN)

Additional Information

• Manage trauma and critical care skills including medication titrations, arterial lines, mass blood transfusions, and chest tubes
• Deliver and coordinate nursing care for patients with complex needs to ensure safety and quality
• Holiday coverage may be required as part of the rotation
