Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg and Stepdown unit requiring at least one year of recent nursing experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Details

• Position is based in a hospital's Inpatient Overflow unit on the 3rd floor
• Mixed Medical/Surgical and Stepdown (MS/SD) patient population
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week
• Stepdown and charge experience are preferred for this assignment
• No local candidates permitted; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility

Requirements

• Active RN license in Oklahoma or compact state (eNLC)
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• Associate degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice, and procedures
• Ability to organize, plan, and coordinate nursing services

Additional Information

• Responsible for caring for a group of patients with a range of acuity from simple to complex
• Expected to document patient responses and changes in medical status and physician orders
• Will assist physicians with patient exams and minor diagnostic procedures
• Required to administer medications, IV infusions, and blood products as prescribed
• Interacts closely with patients and their families throughout care and discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Personal computer proficiency and effective communication skills required
• Holiday coverage and flexibility may be necessary
