American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Telemetry position on night shift, requiring a NC or compact RN license and strong PCU skills.

Details

• Work in a 20-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with telemetry monitoring in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes post-surgical HPB, women's surgery, and plastic surgery cases
• Typical patient ratio is 1:4-6, with surge periods of up to 1:7-8
• Required to float within Region 1 facilities as needed and within scope of practice
• Night shift (12-hours, 1900-0700) with every other weekend rotation
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
• Unit utilizes bedside telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, EKG, and transport monitors

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 18 months of recent PCU experience required
• Ability to manage central lines, drains, G/J tubes, heparin and cardiac gtt, and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the unit

• Responsibilities include care of complex post-surgical patients and telemetry monitoring
• Strong teamwork and support from CNAs, charge nurse, IV/VAT team, and resource nurse
• Night shift mentors available for guidance
• Two-day departmental orientation in addition to facility orientation provided
• Free parking is available on-site
• Navy scrubs are required
• First-time travelers will be considered, but preference given to those with prior travel experience
• Up to 6 days off may be approved with appropriate scheduling, excluding holidays
