American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a surgical stepdown IMCU position requiring MA licensure and strong telemetry skills.

Details

• Position is in the Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) with stepdown level care
• Care for post-operative patients from PACU or SICU, including cardiothoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant cases
• Unit has 38 beds with typical patient ratios of 1:3, 1:4, or 1:4-5 for MedSurg floor patients
• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Uses automated medication dispensing systems
• Float requirements not specified

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and any required advanced certifications active at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience and prior surgical stepdown/IMCU experience required
• Must have completed more than one previous travel assignment
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
• Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Hospital preferred
• Must complete and pass Telemetry and Critical Care Medication exams on first day
• Must provide two professional references, one of which must be from a manager and include a performance evaluation

• Unit provides intermediate care for complex post-surgical and trauma patients
• Team includes nurses and support staff experienced in stepdown and IMCU care
• Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia test required (can be taken twice only)
• References from supervisors not accepted unless listed as manager; references from other travelers not accepted
• First-time travelers are not eligible; prior travel experience is required
• Holiday coverage required for assigned shifts
