Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse with PCU and telemetry experience for a night shift position in Rochester, NY requiring an active NY RN license.

Details

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population including long-term pulmonary cases, ENT surgery, and post-surgical stepdown care
• Patient ratios are 1:4-5
• Night shifts, 7p-7a, with every other weekend and holiday required if needed
• Charting with Epic EMR; Epic experience required
• Will be required to float to other units within scope of practice

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• Minimum of 1 year of PCU, stepdown, or telemetry nursing experience
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips (no titration), rapid response, code teams, and emergency cardiac care
• Proficient in central and peripheral line management, IV therapy, phlebotomy, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Applicants must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include telemetry and stepdown care, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response for assigned patients
• Blood product administration and management of both central and peripheral lines is required
• Scrub colors required are navy blue and white, in any combination
• Must be prepared to float within the skillset to other units as needed
