American Traveler is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a PCU/Telemetry position with strong cardiac and neuro skills, requiring a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• Care for a mixed patient population including adolescents to geriatrics with medical, cardiac, neuro, and respiratory needs
• Assignments may involve all PCU, all MS/Tele, or a mix of PCU and MS/Tele based on patient acuity and staffing needs
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 with a high staffing ratio
• Uses Epic for EMR, Pyxis for medication management, and SBAR communication
• Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating within the facility is required
• No call required
• No block scheduling is permitted

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, Tele, or MS/Tele experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Proficiency in titrating cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with Epic EMR, Pyxis, and SBAR is preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include caring for mixed MS/Tele and intermediate patients, including small populations of neuro and respiratory cases
• Adheres to holiday coverage policy based on number of major holidays in contract period
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed; no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• Full compliance required to start on time with bi-weekly orientation cycles
• Scrub color is navy blue
• No block scheduling or assignment of travel pairs to the same unit/shift
• First time travelers are welcome
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one full year to return as a traveler
