American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a day shift position in a Level I trauma, Magnet acute care environment with IL RN license and BLS certification required.

Details

• Work in a 25-bed Med/Surg unit specializing in Urology and Nephrology within an acute care hospital
• Patient population includes genitourinary and renal cases with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure
• Average daily census of 23 patients
• Remote cardiac telemetry monitoring required
• Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience is required
• Day shift schedule (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), three 12-hour shifts per week
• Required to work every other weekend
• Float to other Med/Surg units within scope as needed
• No call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at the time of application
• Current BLS certification is required
• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg experience required
• Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response
• Skill in pre/post hemodialysis management, blood product administration, and central/PICC line management
• Ability to operate chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula, and portable oxygen
• Proficiency with IV therapy, phlebotomy, wound care, and isolation precautions
• Cerner EMR experience required

• Responsibilities include care for patients with complex genitourinary and renal issues, including management of chest tubes and non-invasive airway support

• Requested time off should ideally not exceed 5 days for the assignment
