American Traveler is seeking an experienced LPN for a Medical Surgical/Telemetry night shift assignment with tele experience and BLS certification required.

Details

• Work in a 14-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry overflow unit within a GI Endoscopy flex space
• Patient population includes medical-surgical and telemetry overflow, primarily ED boarder patients
• Patient census may fluctuate based on patient volume and demand
• Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week (1900-0700)
• Float required to similar MS units as needed
• Every other weekend coverage required
• May be placed on call as staffing requires
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Current LPN license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience
• BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Primary duties include blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube care, Foley catheter insertion, NG/G tube management, medication administration (IM, SQ, oral, subcutaneous), oxygen delivery, patient bathing, mouth care, and vital sign monitoring
• Responsible for the admission of patients and communicating status changes to the RN or MD as appropriate
• Utilizes SBAR for communication with ED patients; uses verbal reporting for other transfers and admissions
• Required to follow isolation precautions as needed
• Navy blue or white scrubs required
• Unit accepts first-time travelers
• RTO restrictions: minimal requests only
• Local candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
