Description

American Traveler is seeking an LPN with at least 1 year of med/surg experience and BLS certification to work nights in a flexible overflow medical-surgical telemetry unit.

Details

• Work in a 14-bed medical-surgical telemetry overflow unit that flexes based on emergency department boarder volume
• Unit functions within a GI Endoscopy space with patient volume increasing or decreasing as needed
• Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00) with every other weekend required
• Floating to care for medical-surgical patients is required based on operational needs
• Epic EMR experience is preferred

Requirements

• Current LPN license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of relevant medical-surgical experience
• BLS certification required
• Experience with blood glucose testing, feeding tube care, Foley catheter insertion, NG/G tube care, and isolation precautions
• Ability to communicate patient status changes to RNs or MDs using SBAR for emergency department patients
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient admission, vital sign monitoring, administering ear and eye drops, IM & SQ injections, oral and subcutaneous care, ambulation, oxygen administration, and mouth care
• Minimal time off requests are preferred and should be communicated up front
• Navy blue or white scrubs are required
• Block scheduling may be accommodated if possible, but is not guaranteed
• Weekend and call requirements are based on staffing needs
• First-time travelers are accepted
