Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medicine Step Down unit contract requiring Med-Surg and Step Down experience, an active OK or compact RN license, and BLS certification.

Details

• Position is in a hospital Medicine Step Down unit
• Cares for a variety of patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex
• 12-hour day shifts, totaling 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holidays are part of the schedule
• 13-week contract with the possibility of extension

Requirements

• Active RN license in Oklahoma or a compact state (eNLC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by AHA
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in Med-Surg and Step Down settings
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsible for a designated group of patients, including monitoring physiological data and administering medications and IV infusions
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Participates in developing and communicating patient care plans with patients and families
• Delegates tasks to and coordinates with support staff
• Must be able to provide care responsive to patients’ cultural and language needs
